Trainers

There are no licensing or regulations for “professional” dog trainers. Anyone can put out a shingle and call themselves a dog trainer. Austin Dog Rescue recommends you choose a trainer that uses reward based training methods and understands the concept and value of positive reinforcement techniques. Most of the trainers on this page are CPDT certified. However, there are trainers that are not CPDT certified but may have years of hands-on experience working with dogs in shelters or other dog related businesses, and they have gained knowledge and experience that books cannot teach. If any trainer on this page does not call or email you back within 48 hours, please contact us.
