Austin Dog Rescue is made up purely of volunteers. Each dog is sheltered within a home in the Austin area. As such, there is no physical shelter to visit the dog at. If you think you may be interested in a particular dog now or in the future, please fill out an application form. People with approved application forms are prioritized over people who haven’t yet applied.
Little miss sassy pants, formally known as Sienna, this cutie did not come to ADR in the way most of our dogs do. Her mother ended up in a local shelter. Estelle was in terrible shape, the advocates at the shelter sent out a plea for rescue. She was blind, partially paralyzed and scheduled for euthanasia on 11.24. Fast forward to 12.15 and we find out Estelle is also pregnant and due very soon. She went into labor that night, and out came Sienna.
Sienna is a fighter, she may have been the runt of the litter but there is no doubt she runs the show. She is fierce, independent,
incorrigible, and about the most adorable shepherd mix puppy ever. When she runs at you with pure joy and mischief in her eyes it’s hard to be mad she just pulled your favorite plant off the windowsill.
Sienna is loving, strong willed, smart, brave, curious, and great with other dogs. She loves hanging around with her people, including my 6 year-old niece. Sienna will do best in an active home with a family who will use positive training to engage her intelligent mind. She is guaranteed to provide love and laughs in return.
Sienna is doing great with her potty training but is still young and will need patience. She will be spayed and have her first two rounds of DHPP before she goes home.
