Austin Dog Rescue is made up purely of volunteers. Each dog is sheltered within a home in the Austin area. As such, there is no physical shelter to visit the dog at. If you think you may be interested in a particular dog now or in the future, please fill out an application form. People with approved application forms are prioritized over people who haven’t yet applied.
Hey, I’m Mondo! My name means “remarkable”, which is very suiting to my life journey. I’m a confident, sweet and playful dude. I’m very social with all my foster siblings and friends. I spend a lot of time cuddling with my foster sister, she loves my company! On sunny days, we like to play in the backyard and sun bathe on our deck. I actually have a few tricks up my sleeve, I show them off to get treats from my foster parents. Peanut Butter and pumpkin treats are my favorites.
I may be an older dog, but I still have the energy to play with my foster siblings. I can also be very independent. I like afternoon naps in my crate and can sleep all through the night until it’s time for breakfast! My one fear is thunderstorms, I don’t like them! I need my parents to remind me we’re safe inside. Other than that, nothing can intimidate me.
I get along with all the new people I meet, even kids! I'm very social with all types of dog friends too. I'm very curious about small dogs.
Have I mentioned that I’m really fashionable? I have a collection of bandanas that I like to sport every day. Everyone thinks I’m handsome. I like to wear them on walks around our neighborhood and on car rides. I love car rides and the wind in my face.
I have a heart condition that requires daily medications but I don't let that get me down. I'm a strong dog and doing really well.
I’m ready to find my forever family with a home to call my own. I’d like to cuddle on a warm bed and watch our favorite TV shows. Send in the applications because I can't wait to meet you!
