Austin Dog Rescue is made up purely of volunteers. Each dog is sheltered within a home in the Austin area. As such, there is no physical shelter to visit the dog at. If you think you may be interested in a particular dog now or in the future, please fill out an application form. People with approved application forms are prioritized over people who haven’t yet applied.
Hey, good Karma here to tell you a bit about myself. I was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas just 15 minutes before I was to be euthanized because one of my rear legs was broken. I have never looked back. I arrived in my foster home the same day I was to be put down and walked in like I had always known that I would get there.
My foster mom says that I might be the perfect dog; not one accident since arriving, I get on well with all five dogs in my foster home as well as others I have met in the neighborhood and never met a human stranger. I will probably do best in a home with other dog friendly pups. She also says that I am a really sharp cookie and will need a lot of mental stimulation to be my happiest. (I don’t know what that means but I love doggy cookies so I am betting it is a good thing.) I am looking for a like minded, free spirited, very active dog lover with whom to share my life. I will also need a yard for my crazy zoomie workouts that come over me randomly.
