Austin Dog Rescue is made up purely of volunteers. Each dog is sheltered within a home in the Austin area. As such, there is no physical shelter to visit the dog at. If you think you may be interested in a particular dog now or in the future, please fill out an application form. People with approved application forms are prioritized over people who haven’t yet applied.
Hi, there I'm Georgia and I am on the hunt for my perfect furever family. If it's you, congratulations, you've just hit the jackpot!
I am a sweet, silly girl who just wants to have fun and get loved on. I still have a lot of puppy energy so I need an active family who will keep me on the go. I LOVE playing with other dogs so it would be great if I had a K9 sibling who can keep up with me and a good yard for us to run around in. I can be a bit shy when I meet new people
(especially if they are wearing a mask - those things freak me out!) but I warm up quickly and I think I'll get more comfortable with making new friends as I settle in and get practice at it. Once I know you are okay I'm the friendliest dog in the world. I like kids but I am very large, very energetic and very uncoordinated so humans who
are small enough to be knocked over are not a good idea for my home.
Some of my favorite things are toys (I'll throw them around and play fetch all by myself - it makes people laugh!), sticks, dogs, naps in the sun, walks (or I'm a good running buddy!) and most importantly cuddles. Someone once told me that 70 pound dogs don't really fit in a person's lap, but I refuse to accept this.
I've just conquered potty training! I am still working on crate training and knowing what is an appropriate thing to chew on. I am making good progress but my people will need to be patient and diligent about these things. I am a smart girl and I love to learn, so keeping my mind just as busy as my body is also important!
Overall I am just a great dog, and if you find yourself thinking, "I've just got Georgia on my mind" (see what I did there ;)) apply to meet me today!
