Austin Dog Rescue is made up purely of volunteers. Each dog is sheltered within a home in the Austin area. As such, there is no physical shelter to visit the dog at. If you think you may be interested in a particular dog now or in the future, please fill out an application form. People with approved application forms are prioritized over people who haven’t yet applied.
Eddie is a sweet and happy 10 month old “pocket size” (~30’sh lb) super mutt who is always ready to party! He is currently being fostered at a dog daycare and boarding facility - and loves playing with his furry friends.
Eddie is very confident around other pups and has a bit of a rough/dominant play style, so needs to be monitored when playing to make sure he’s minding his manners :). He would do great with another dog in the house - but that dog would have to be very tolerant of puppy energy and be willing to help Eddie manage his ‘pushy’ tendencies.
Eddie is a wonderfully sweet boy but still has a lot of puppy left in him… so he needs a lot of activity to exercise both his body and brain. As with all active pups and strong-willed dogs, Eddie will require on-going training, consistent boundaries, and exercise. He is very smart and engaged, so training should be fun for you and him!
Eddie is potty and crate trained, although he can be vocal in his crate if he’s not tired and may need a few minutes to settle down.
With his puppy energy and need for boundaries, Eddie would do best in a home with dog-savvy parent(s) and no kiddos younger than 10... and only super dog-savvy cats :).
Eddie will make a wonderful addition to the right family and his foster moms are excited to help find his forever home… Please apply if that sounds like you!!
