Austin Dog Rescue is made up purely of volunteers. Each dog is sheltered within a home in the Austin area. As such, there is no physical shelter to visit the dog at. If you think you may be interested in a particular dog now or in the future, please fill out an application form. People with approved application forms are prioritized over people who haven’t yet applied.

Beckett (UPDATED!)

Hi world, my name is Beckett! I'm the goodest boy but I haven't been able to find my forever home just yet. Maybe it's you?!?! Read on to find out!

I'm a pretty high energy pup, but also an expert at naps and cuddles - those are my favorite things. What else do I love? Just about everything and everyone! Sometimes I am a tad shy when meeting new people, but I get past it super quick because more friends means more pets (and sometimes treats!). I have been practicing going to restaurants and breweries, and I have learned that it is super fun.

I also love other dogs! My K9 foster brother and I have a great time playing together, whether it's zooming around the yard, chewing sticks, or wrestling. We also go on lots of walks together and that is another of my favorite activities! I'm told that my leash manners need some work, but I promise I am a smart boy and I'll get better. I haven't lived with any cats but I met a couple and I was very nice to them. Given my size, energy level and lack of coordination I might be a bit much for very small kids, but I've done great with older kids.

Getting back to how smart I am, I pick things up quickly and I am very food motivated. I know my basic commands, I am potty and crate trained, and I would love a family that will continue teaching me new things.

My foster family says that I am a sweet, smart, hilarious, goofball, and that any family would be lucky to have me.
