Austin Dog Rescue is made up purely of volunteers. Each dog is sheltered within a home in the Austin area. As such, there is no physical shelter to visit the dog at. If you think you may be interested in a particular dog now or in the future, please fill out an application form. People with approved application forms are prioritized over people who haven’t yet applied.
Aurora is a sweet and curious, medium-sized hound mix who won't let anything get her down!
This happy tripod can keep up with anyone. She loves to spend time with her foster siblings chasing squirrels in the yard, playing tug-of-war, and wrestling. Plush toys and chews are her favorite things - she will even throw them for herself! She is a cuddle bug too and enjoys evenings watching TV curled up in the nook of your arm or across your lap.
Aurora has mostly been around adults but does well with children bigger than her. She is house trained and sleeps in her crate, but her cuddles are so good you might not want to put her up!
She is very motivated by food, so treats will help with training. She was previously an outdoor dog, but quickly adjusted to life indoors - she was always meant to be a companion. She's a smart girl and has never had an accident in her foster home.
Aurora loves car rides and is not anxious about whatever adventure is next, even if it’s a vet visit. She has fully healed from amputation surgery and was very brave. Her foster parents love her and feel like she would be the perfect family member in an experienced household.
We want to note that small critters and cats have not been tested with her extensively.
Check out some of her pictures, she's such an Instagram model! She hopes to meet you one day.
