Austin Dog Rescue is made up purely of volunteers. Each dog is sheltered within a home in the Austin area. As such, there is no physical shelter to visit the dog at. If you think you may be interested in a particular dog now or in the future, please fill out an application form. People with approved application forms are prioritized over people who haven’t yet applied.
Cam or "Cam-Cam" is a 4 year old Basset Hound mix. He’s a very long boy with short little legs. He plays well with other dogs but has never been around cats. He gets the occasional evening zoomies but spends 99% of his time curled up on the couch or in his bed. He enjoys sun bathing and will sit for pets for as long as you will give them. He knows "sit", "paw", "down", and "wait (stay)".
Cam does extremely well on a leash, in the car, and he is completely potty trained. He is scared of the vacuum and isn’t a fan of water. He has a lot of love to give and just wants a cozy place to relax. Cam is looking for a home without small children as they just aren't his style. A home with calmer big kids would be fine and a doggy companion would be cool, but not necessary!
