Katja is an intelligent observer. She loves to play, but also will sit back to watch and observe before jumping right back in. She has a problem solving mind and strong personality. She is playful, cuddly and fun, but can be very vocal about her likes and dislikes. One of her favorite things to do is to jump into her water bowl and cool herself off. She loves attention and craves companionship. She would do best in a household where someone is around most of the time.
Katja is a Husky mix. Huskies are a unique breed of dog and definitely aren't for everyone. Please review the following breed traits & think about whether you are willing to accept & embrace these potential traits in order to give Katja a forever home.
Huskies are a high energy, intelligent breed. Most of them are ingenious escape artists, often challenging the most patient owner. One of their favorite pastimes is to dig crater sized holes. Huskies are highly social animals. They don't do well with isolation and tend to make horrible watch dogs. While they don't usually bark, they do love to "talk" and can be highly vocal. With their unique coloring and beautiful coats, they shed a lot, all year round. They require patience and must have obedience training. They should always be kept on leash or in a secure fenced in area, as they were bred to run & training a recall is difficult and sometimes impossible. Huskies do best in an experienced household with a calm, strong leader.
